The first night of the Asia Superyacht Rendezvous has kicked off with a bang. The late afternoon shower threatened to dampen the spirits, however failed dismally. Angsana Laguna spent the day welcoming guests to their magical surroundings, greeting them with great enthusiasm and everyone seemed to be getting rather lost in the atmosphere.
On the first evening local and international sponsors, media and guests, as well as the captains and owners of all the participating yachts were welcomed to Bang Thao Bay. They then went on to fight the waves and board speedboats to the Indonesian style Phinisi, Silolona for the opening cocktail party. As guests arrived on board Silolona, they were greeted by the enthusiastic crew. The crew filled the evening with their traditional music by playing their various instruments and creating a genuinely lovely atmosphere.
Silolona most certainly know how to entertain and keep guests satisfied with her captivating traditional wooden decor, all of which have their own story to tell.
As the second day commenced, guests got ready for a day under the clear blue sky for some racing. Start boat Maverick went out early with the race officials on board and the sail boats all followed. Shamoun, Twizzle, Asia, Yanneke Too, Si Datu Bua and Silolona raced for the win around Bang Thao Bay. All in the name of fun!
