Fortis, international banking and insurance company, has confirmed a renewed sponsorship agreement with The Superyacht Cup Palma. Fortis are returning for their 5th year in succession at the Platinum level for 2008.
The Fortis Yacht Group specialises in providing bespoke ownership solutions, finance, and management services for yacht owners. The Superyacht Cup is now in its 12th year; it brings together many of the world's finest large sailing yachts, their owners, guests and crew to compete against each other in the Bay of Palma on the beautiful Mediterranean island of Mallorca. The event opens with a welcome cocktail party at the Castillo de San Carlos overlooking the impressive line up of yachts at Dique del Oeste.
New for 2008, there will be an IRC class for the more performance-orientated yachts as well as the traditional cruising class; around 25 - 30 yachts are expected to take part in the four day event from June 11th - 14th. The latest yacht entries include the Jongert 2900 Ameena and the 30m Sindonemo, built by Yachting Developments in New Zealand.
