Icon Yachts prepares for keel laying of 46m new build

Project Gotham is a new build project signed by Dutch shipyard Icon Yachts who are scheduled to begin construction on the 45.8-metre motor yacht in October later this year. The project was secured by Bristow-Holmes for her client. The concept of the project was conceived by the two parties working together with designer Ivan Erdevicki looking to offer a new line of yachts that has, up till now, not been available to the market. The project is expected to be ready for delivery in June 2019.

Project Gotham is designed by ER Yacht Design from Canada who worked closely with the owner and his broker on the finer details of the project. Van Oossanen Naval Architects implemented their patented Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) that has been combined with Hull Vane technology to offer a remarkably efficient and comfortable journey at sea.

Several exterior areas ranging from a purpose-designed beach club, to private Jacuzzi area on the foredeck and a dedicated DJ space on the sundeck are all designed to keep guests entertained and enjoying the yacht as intended by her owner.

In contrast to Gotham’s dark exterior, the interior spaces will be bright, simple and minimalistic according to initial impressions. Stand out features will include a glass wine cellar in the lower deck lobby, a full beam master suite with skylight, and an integrated tender bay/gymnasium for the active guests onboard.

Icon Yachts CEO, Jen Wartena, comments: “This project has been one of the most innovative and exciting projects we have been involved in. It’s the culmination of a great deal of work spanning over 22 months since our initial discussions at the Monaco Yacht Show in September 2015.
