It's raining awards at Royal Huisman

The Fall 2011 season has yielded an exceptional harvest of awards for Huisman yachts, their owners, designers and builders. The elegant 57.5m (189ft) ketch Twizzle has appeared unstoppable this year as she seized the attention of awards juries for almost every aspect of her design and build. In May she was voted Best Custom Yacht at the Asia Boating Awards; the next day she received Judges’ Commendation as a finalist for Best 45m+ Sailing Yacht at the World Superyacht Awards in London.

Not content with these accolades Twizzle added four more in October. At the International Superyacht Society Design Awards:

Two years after her 2009 delivery, the highly regarded 58m (190ft) ketch Ethereal continues to draw admiration for her advanced technologies. At the ShowBoats Design Awards her owners Bill & Shannon Joy and Royal Huisman jointly received the Design & Technology Award for the R&D on Ethereal’s hybrid propulsion and energy conservation systems.

Ethereal then went on at the Perseus Awards in Florida, where owners Bill and Shannon Joy were personally honoured with the 2011 Perseus Award recognising “yacht owners who have demonstrated exemplary effort and contribution towards marine wildlife conservation.” Their award noted that “Their commitment to the environment set the stage for the cutting edge design of their 58m ketch Ethereal by Royal Huisman Shipyard”.
