Mare Yachting & Consultancy have released details to SuperYachtTimes.com about the new and exciting Jasmine project. Jasmine is a 36.42m Gulet, with a 135t displacement. She is to feature 5 large sized guest cabins, and has a large salon and dining area on the main deck.
Jasmine is constructed from wood epoxy, most of the wood being sapelli hardwood and acajou veneers. The planking has two akajou diagonal layers of 4 mm on 28 mm sapelli in longitudinal direction .The last layer is 12 mm longitudinal planking with 2 additional layers of 600 g / m2 glass / epoxy . The deck is 12 mm teak on two layers of 12 mm marine plywood . The frames are of laminated type and they are connected with the deck beams to ring frames throughout the construction . There is a massive laminated keel , stem- and stern post . The beam shelves are also of generous dimensions and at the area of the masts they are doubled in size at a length of at least 8 meters ! The floors are of stainless steel and stainless steel constructions are carrying the loads of the masts to the keel . The yacht was planned to be classed by RINA , so that the scantlings are calculated to fit into the rules of that society.
When talking to the designers, they explained "The Hull , based upon the traditional sailboats of Eastern Med from the 18 / 19 th. century , has a generous beam with moderate overhangs and a clipper bow", they continued "The long keel boat with a relatively long parallel midship enables a very high volume inside with a living space comparable to sail yachts of 40 to 43 to meters LoA. The boat has a sleek profile with a moderate sheer and flash deck . The sections are slightly hollow below waterline , which will give the boat very good sea keeping abilities . Even though designed as a motor sailer , the large beam with the relatively high ballast ratio enables a large sail carrying factor".
Jasmine is rigged as a schooner, reducing the pitching and enabling to carry a large sail area when the wind is abaft without bringing the center of effort too high. The masts are aluminum alloy and standing rigging is of rod type . Under power and at the harbor maneuver, the yacht can be controlled from the helm station at the small fly bridge with the help of a joy stick”
