John Clayman appointed to the board of U.S. Superyacht Association

John Clayman, President of Seaton Yachts of Newport, accepted his appointment to the board of directors during the U.S. Superyacht Association, annual meeting. The meeting was held at Bahia Mar Marina, during the Ft. Lauderdale boat show.

Clayman, a native of New England, has been a dynamic figure in the yachting industry for decades. After several years running a large manufacturing concern with international distribution, John rejoined the Ted Hood at Little Harbor Yachts, in Portsmouth, RI as a naval architect and later as general manager. Later, as the East Coast distributor for Selene Ocean Trawlers, he was instrumental in introducing and refining this line of displacement powerboats.

In 2005, John teamed with marine industry veterans Stephen R. Seaton and L.E. “Nick” Nicholson to form Seaton Yachts to specialize in the design, construction and sales of new and brokerage seagoing sail and motor-yachts.

A veteran racer and cruiser, both sail and power, John brings decades of experience in design, construction, and marketing to Seaton Yachts. Along with serving on the board of the United States Superyacht Association, John is a licensed Florida Yacht Broker, a YBAA Certified Professional Yacht Broker, and a long time member of the New York Yacht Club.
