As part of the continued expansion of its services to the superyacht industry through Moore Stephens Yachting, Moore Stephens Isle of Man announces the appointment of Kevin Wood as head of Superyacht Crew Services. He is responsible for the complete range of personal financial planning services of yacht crew ranging from offshore bank accounts and insurance to pensions.
Based in the Isle of Man, Wood joined Moore Stephens with 25 years experience as an Independent Financial Advisor ("IFA") and a background in servicing the personal financial planning needs of superyacht crew.
"As an IFA I know superyacht crew are special; I'm excited to be with a firm that understands that and has access to the products and services they need," says Wood.
With a brand long associated with global shipping, Moore Stephens Isle of Man expanded that to carve out a dominant position in the superyacht and closely-related Business Aircraft Industries providing ownership, operational and VAT structuring targeted at owners and operators and most recently their crews.
"Two years ago, when we designed our offering for yacht crew, we realised that the international nature of their profession gives them many options but their busy schedules also mean that they don't always have time to plan for the future," says Senior partner Clive Dixon head of Moore Stephens Yachting, "Kevin has the technical background but more importantly the yachting experience to help us help them; we're happy to have him onboard."
Wood is past Chair of the Isle of Man Insurance Brokers Association and former President of the Insurance Institute of the Isle of Man.
