Malcolm McKeon’s new 78m mega sloop project MM78

Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design has unveiled the studio’s largest designed project to date in the form of a massive 78-metre sailing yacht that, when built, will become the world’s largest sloop yet.MM780The single-mast already being a defining feature of a yacht of this size, MM78 is also designed with a completely flush deck with nearly no obstructions looking from stern to bow. “Impetus for the design came from the client's wish to have clear 360-degree views from the cockpit without the need for a flybridge,” comments McKeon.

Malcolm McKeon 78m SloopLifestyle onboard is not affected however with the removal of a deckhouse. The owner’s apartment that covers 150 square metres is positioned near the stern of the yacht and comes complete with its own saloon and dining area which opens up onto an outward-folding swim platform area.

Malcolm McKeon 78m Sloop"This is a ground-breaking concept and we are delighted to have had the opportunity to develop this design for the client,” McKeon continued. “The design progressed through several evolutionary stages and now, with the final arrangement confirmed, we're pleased to share news of this project."
