Marina of the Month: Porto Mirabello

Situated on the north-western Italian coastline, the Porto Mirabello marina is nestled in the seclusion and serenity of the Gulf of La Spezia. Known also as the Gulf of Poets, the idyllic surroundings are said to have inspired the works of Lord Byron, Percy Shelley and Filippo Tommaso Marinetti to name but a few, and it is easy to see why. Against the backdrop of the rustic and rolling Ligurian mountain range, the marina is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty. With the ability to accommodate up to 17 vessels over 65-metres, 11 new mooring slips and an outstanding Megayacht Quay, the Port’s recent transformations have secured the location as one of the largest luxury superyacht hubs on the Mediterranean coastline.

There are trained technical staff available 24 hours a day to assist with docking and with the unique added aspect of a dedicated onsite shipyard, yachts are also able to complete any maintenance work whilst in port, a rare and extraordinarily useful facility. The marina is home to a heliport as well as two high-capacity fuelling stations situated within the Megayacht Quay, allowing vessels to refuel conveniently and quickly. Moreover, with privacy a priority, members of the Megayacht Quay receive state of the art entry badges to gain access through private security gates, giving high profile owners peace of mind. With exclusivity in mind, the recently opened Poets Lounge offers guests moored in the Megayacht Quay a secluded space to relax and enjoy the breathtaking views and sensational scenery of La Spezia.

Surrounded by enchanting destinations, Porto Mirabello opens the door to the region's extensive and outstanding natural beauty. Whilst the charm of the five towns of Cinque Terre remains the most defining feature of the Province of La Spezia, the marina is just a stone's throw away from some of the most rustic, romantic and under the radar locations.
