In addition to a wealth of technical expertise, the Dutch company Azure Naval Architects now has its own team of in-house designers. The new department was established to better address the demand of clients who prefer to have technology and design carried out by a single company. Azure is currently working on the design of interiors and exteriors for six motoryachts with lengths varying from 60 to 115 metres.
In its seven-year existence, Azure has experienced considerable growth and its reputation as a design company has become increasingly well-known among yards and owners around the world. Recent superyacht project with which Azure was involved for technical design included the ISS Design Award winner Sunrays, Vibrant Curiosity and Cakewalk.
“Over the coming years we will increase our focus on designing yacht interiors and exteriors in addition to our current core business of technical designs,” comments Director Hugo van Wieringen. “It is becoming more common for clients to approach us for that type of design, and having our own design department will allow us to fulfil requests in a better and faster way.”
