German shipyard Abeking & Rasmussen announced yesterday the opening of their new expanded production shed at their facilities in Lemwerder. The new facility will allow the yard to construct vessels of up to 125 metres and offers several amenities to aid work on larger boats, including passenger and freight elevators to reach different decks.
Commenting on the expansion, Abeking & Rasmussen has stated that they plan to introduce their first vessel to built in the new production hall shortly: “With this extensive investment Abeking & Rasmussen looks to a secure future and will introduce the first vessel, built in the new production hall, shortly.”
An opening ceremony was held throughout the day in which representatives from national and local government, the maritime industry as well as the entire Abeking & Rasmussen staff were joined by CEO Hans M. Schaedla.
