Nobiskrug recently welcomed the owner and build team of the 80-metre superyacht project that is currently under construction at its facilities in Kiel, Germany during a traditional keel-laying ceremony. The yacht that is still to be named, will be ready for delivery in 2019 and is believed to have been designed by Gregory C. Marshall.
In true maritime fashion, the owner presented a coin that was placed underneath the keel and will remain there until the yacht nears completion where after it will be returned to the owner, symbolising good luck and fortune on the voyages the yacht will undertake.
“This happy occasion indicates the start of the hull assembly of the superyacht – when, for the first time she is considered to have a soul. It is also a traditional maritime ceremony to bring good fortune to a vessel during her construction and to her captain, guests and crew during her life” said Holger Kahl, Managing Director.
