OmniAccess, IP based communication solution specialists for the marine industry, has launched the ultra-fast BroadBEAM ULTRA 20 Megabit VSAT service as a special seasonal package for the Caribbean and Maldives/SE Asia cruising areas this winter.
Designed specifically for use within the Super and Mega-yacht sector, and for high-end internet demand, the BroadBEAM ULTRA service provides download speeds up to 20 times faster than conventional satellite services. It is considered to be the world’s fastest maritime airtime package available today, and is already in use by some of the world’s largest private and commercial super yachts.
The OmniAccess BroadBeam Ultra service allows for the use of next generation, bandwidth hungry applications like high-definition video-conferencing, the simultaneous streaming of multiple HDTV channels, and other extreme applications. With OmniAccess BroadBeam Ultra, yacht owners can benefit from an unparalleled internet service regardless of where they are located around the world and without any uninterruption to the service, even when cruising in remote locations.
Using the latest iDirect Evolution DVB-S2 technology, the BroadBeam Ultra service is offered in speed of 10 megabits and 20 megabits, and will be available as a “shared” service with a low contention ratio of 5:1 or a fully dedicated service with a contention-ratio of 1:1.
While conventional satellite services usually provide maximum download speeds of 1-3 Mbps, BroadBeam Ultra is up to 20 times faster.
Carlos Carbajal, Managing Director Yacht Services at OmniAccess, said: “BroadBeam Ultra is the natural choice for those who require the world’s best marine network solutions. The newly extended coverage in the Caribbean and throughout South East Asia, including the Maldives, is testament to our commitment to be at the forefront of communications technology for the yachting and commercial marine industry.”
He continued: “Our clients want nothing short of the very best, and OmniAccess prides itself on delivering state-of-the-art, reliable internet access in all corners of the globe.”
