In 2008, the RFF 135 has been extensively tested at the Australian Maritime Ship Hydrodynamics Centre. A 1:24 scale model was tested in calm water for a range of operational displacements and speeds. Extensive seakeeping head seas experiments were also carried out over a range of significant wave heights and wave periods. The tow tank test results validated the vessels 35 knot sprint speed and exceptional seakeeping characteristics.
