On a beautiful summer evening S.Y Nostromo - the latest Dubois/ Pendennis collaboration - emerged from the construction hall at the Falmouth Superyacht yard. Built in an impressive 18 months, the 30m aluminum sloop is a true benchmark for British marine engineering design excellence.
Her deck layout, superstructure and hull lines follow the best Dubois concepts to combine fantastic sailing performance with practical, all-weather comfort and usability. Externally, a spacious aft deck offers magnificent opportunities for sunbathing, while the large and comfortable bimini-sheltered cockpit is designed for “al fresco” dining for up to 12 guests.
Below decks, the living space is spilt over two levels, taking full advantage of light through the 180 degree panoramic windows and providing the owner with an elegant saloon for dining and general relaxation, together with a spacious and practical pilothouse and deck-level lounge. Sleeping accommodation for up to nine guests is located aft and is spread out over four beautifully appointed en suite cabins complete with the latest audio visual equipment.
Following her launch, the yacht’s carbon fibre rig by Hall Spars and Future Fibres, with sails by North and winches by Harken, was quickly set up before sea trials commenced. Nostromo is due to leave Falmouth for the Mediterranean at the end of July.
