At this year's Monaco Yacht Show, Sinot Yacht Design presented their annual Sinot Yacht Design book. This year the Dutch design firm dedicated the book to Equilibrium. The 110-metre motor yacht Equilibrium was born from a dialogue and is a reflection of the wishes of owners seeking balance in their yachts.
When Sander Sinot (CEO Sinot Yacht Design) started work on the Equilibrium project, he decided at an early stage to involve Henk de Vries, CEO of Koninklijke De Vries Scheepsbouw, one of the Feadship yards, as well as future customers of both the designer and the builder of this exceptional project. This resulted in a dialogue between Sinot, De Vries, various customers and others in the yachting industry, discussing the demands a yacht should meet, for both the present and the future.
Balance, between man, machine and nature is key since yachts are increasingly becoming an extension of the owner and his/her family life. This is reflected in the many personalized details of the yacht, the furniture and the art on-board. Technological innovations and revolutionary use of materials enhance functionality and reveal a natural beauty. Finally the blending of the yacht’s lines into her natural surroundings is endorsed by the relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces.
Sinot commented: "By this philosophy Equilibrium was inspired by the Musashi, the 88-meter Motor Yacht built by Feadship, we had the privilege to create the interior and exterior design for".
