Superyacht of the Week: Amels’ Eclectic Elixir

When considering the success Amels have achieved over the past decade in which they have been constructing their range of Limited Editions superyachts, one can compare this Dutch shipyard’s results to the act of a big-stage magician; every trick seeming better than the previous. The launch of the new Elixir perfectly embodies this approach and leaves little to wonder about the custom capabilities that clients are offered when selecting an Amels Limited Editions as their next superyacht.

Elixir is the latest in this range of displacement yachts designed by Tim Heywood that is on offer by Amels. Although very similar in exterior appearance to her older sisters, Elixir’s superstructure is like we have never seen before on any Limited Editions 180, and if her interior is anything to go by, one would understand why Elixir is vastly different than any yacht in this range before her.

Built for a discerning and experienced yacht owner, Elixir is fitted with every conceivable luxury item on Amels’ optional-extra list to ensure an unforgettable experience for every guest on board.

Her highly ornate interior by Laura Sessa is what truly sets Elixir apart, who somehow managed to create a luxurious environment that makes one feel extremely welcome; much like your wealthy aunt’s estate, I would imagine. Carrera marble, ebony Macassar and onyx are complemented by a rich natural colour palette and soft touch fabrics. The yacht’s award-winning layout once again proves that every owner is left with considerable space to interpret each onboard area to suit his/her needs.

Other amenities on board include a sky lounge cinema filled with oversized plush seating, a welcoming beach club and sauna area, and a dedicated dive equipment space ensuring underwater exploration in the world’s best destinations.

The yacht’s exterior spaces bare the same Elixir stamp as found on the inside, with a selection of comfortable relaxation areas on each deck, perfectly suited for that high-life summer escape with family or friends. The expansive sundeck must be Elixir’s outdoor trump card. This deck, unlike many of the former yachts in this range, has been kept completely open with the towering mast structure providing a perfect central island under which guests can choose from intimate side seating areas, a shaded lounge space, or the sundeck bar. A generously-sized Jacuzzi overlooks the foredeck and beyond.
