With the launch of brand new and exquisitely unique superyacht Only Now in August of 2012, Tansu Yachts have once again established their firm course for developing uniquely designed, unmistakable vessels that put a fresh new face on modern day, luxury yachting. What started with the ever so strong and charming sisters Ceylan and Nomade (now Bartender), is now continued in the form of a 34 metre superyacht that, for starters, boast ample personality and instant recognisability.
Only Now sports an exciting exterior look, both tough and charming, with a wooden hull and superstructure designed in striking and edgy lines, with naval architecture and engineering by Diana Yacht Design. She has a distinct robust appearance, without being bulky or plump but slender and with a silhouette leaning towards minimalistic. This superyacht undoubtedly has a bold appearance, with exterior features that simply irradiate charisma and strongly redefine what an instant modern classic is all about.
At first glance, Only Now seems to take on a protective stance, almost aggressive, as if she was firmly shielding her guests from the outside world. Yet, upon further inspection, she turns out to be remarkably open and airy, with large deck spaces that emphasise outdoor living and activities. Overall, she is eloquent and unique, yet of a modest elegance that is truly becoming. This is a vessel that feels like a superyacht in stealth mode, where guests can enjoy carefree and luxurious on-board living, anchored or cruising up to 22 knots with Only Now's elegant axe bow smoothly and confidently cleaving through the waves.
The main aft deck is hugely spacious and offers exquisite surroundings for many social occasion and intimate gatherings. A large aft lounging area and a big oval al fresco dining arrangement fore are key ingredients for this lush and contemporary exterior space that is simply elegant and elegantly simple, in the most positive sense of the word. Lush fixed lounging pads and big, inviting wide banded wicker furniture are arranged around a sturdy wooden table, with smoothly rounded edges for a subtle retro look. The lounge and dining areas are pleasantly private yet wonderfully open, a perfect blend for the exterior lifestyle that Only Now so elegantly promotes. In fact, the al fresco dining area is the vessel's main dining space, accentuating a smooth Mediterranean vibe.
The spacious foredeck, which is comfortably shielded by the vessel's elegant high bullwarks, offers a nicely secluded hideaway where large sunpads invite guests to sit back, relax and simply enjoy every moment of the day. Whether to soak up some sun or enjoy the shade, courtesy of the elegant bimini shades, this area is an undoubtable guest favourite.
The main saloon is big, not extravagantly so but undeniably spacious and luxuriously charming. One of the most intriguing and inviting features of this space, is the light and open ambiance that has been achieved, with a natural design scheme moulded around a central lounging space. Modern furnishing, a natural colour palette and refined, down to earth luxury materials are cosily combined to form a saloon that blends contemporary edginess with a refreshing and refined atmosphere.
The warm oak floors and wall panelling fore set the tone, with soft pastel upholstery and a vibrantly expressive Jackson Pollock contrasting the high gloss light grey and white vertical panelling that can be found throughout the entire vessel. There is an inherent softness that smoothly blends with Only Now's sharp lines and shapes, forming in a unique identity that feels strong, safe and hospitable. It's all in the details or, in Only Now's case, the lack thereof, where design and craftsmanship go hand in hand to form calm luxury rather than noise, all framed by a soft and unobtrusive lighting scheme.
Only Now accommodates a company of up to 6 guests, divided into 3 spacious lower deck cabins. The centrally located, full master suite consists of a spacious walk-in wardrobe, his and hers en suite bathrooms with big central shower area, and a large stateroom with office area and ample storage space. With a design scheme combining high gloss grey wall panelling, smooth oak and teak flooring, natural palettes of colours and materials and a gentle lighting scheme into a cool yet warm ambiance, the master suite offers welcoming, luxurious accommodation that is contemporary and cosy.
With a big VIP suite fore and a twin suite starboard side, Only Now's guest accommodations are situated around a large port side gym that is accessible through the central lower deck corridor. The VIP and twin suites, like the spacious master, show a design scheme based on cool high gloss panelling, warm oak flooring and modern details. Both offer big en-suites with large separate shower areas, and ample storage space. Only Now's guest accommodations are a perfect extension of her character, offering warm, classic hospitality in a cool and contemporary style. All spaces are light, gentle, modern and spacious, with subtle luxury and ample amenities.
Upstairs, Only Now shows off her knack for outdoor living with a spacious, well designed sun deck that offers plenty of space for soaking up some sun, enjoying the dramatic vista views and watching the world go by. This flybridge offers a bar and central lounging space consisting of two long lounging sofas, all cooled by elegant bimini shades, with the aft deck allowing for tender storage.
Only Now shows off a charm that is derived from her uniquely recognizable style and design, which seems a trait found in all Tansu superyachts. She finds her personality not only in gentle luxury, but in a style reminiscent of the rugged functionality of working boats. This is an unquestionably successful formula, resulting in a remarkable superyacht that offers her guests refined comfort, subtle luxury and great style served on a contemporary silver platter.
