Last year, Columbus Yachts, a brand of the Palumbo Shipyards, debuted their innovative Sport Hybrid model at the Monaco Yacht Show. With her advanced hybrid propulsion and strong, confident looks, the Columbus 40S Hybrid, designed by Sergio Cutolo of Hydro Tec Naval Architecture with an interior by Hot Lab, combines top performance with sleek, elegant boldness. Her silver hull and white superstructure, smooth curves and axe bow all blend to form an exterior look that is refined, contemporary and, above all, elegantly sportive.
Powered with an advanced hybrid propulsion, she combines high performances, with a maximum speed of 23 knots, with reduced environmental impact. The Hybrid system consists of two electric motors, connected on the gear box through a PTI and a pre reduction gear box. In fact, with the hybrid propulsion mode, it is possible to turn off the main propulsion engines and run just on the electric motors running on fixed RPM of the diesel generator reducing fuel consumption and toxic emissions. The available power is 120kW with a top speed of 8 knots abt. The hybrid system will allow the yacht to cruise in extremely quiet and vibration-free conditions.
In shaft generator mode, the same electric motor will be moved by the Prime movers, giving electric power up to 120kW. This will allow, during diesel navigation to run with diesel generators turned off, saving fuel consumption and reducing dangerous emissions.

Fore, the exquisite full beam master suite continues the light modern style of luxurious, minimalistic finesse. Subtle lighting, large windows and an exquisite airy atmosphere all frame the suite's design of soft, down-toned elegance.
The master quarters offers a spacious stateroom, lush en suite and ample storage space, all wrapped in a delightfully modern style of luxurious serenity. This delightful design is continued into the remaining guest suites, all equally stylish, spacious and located on the lower deck.
The upper aft deck brings panoramic lounging to the next level, with an impressively spacious, open deck with big sun loungers, seating and a fully equipped bar. This area is suitable for any social occasion and is one of the yacht's most impressive features. Inside, the sky lounge only adds to the aft deck spacious ambiance, with a soft, cozy and intimate room perfect for intimate get-togethers. Again, large sliding glass doors allow this entire deck to blend into one big space for marvellous relaxation and endless entertaining.
