Hans Huisman has been appointed as The Superyacht Builders Association’s (SYBAss) new Technical & Environmental Director. Huisman succeeds Chris van Hooren who will be retiring as per 1 January 2016. Hans Huisman’s background in the navigating and shipbuilding of vessels brings valuable experience to the team, and will now oversee the support given to SYBAss’s memnbers regarding technical and regulatory matters.
“We are delighted to have found a successor for Chris van Hooren, which was certainly not an easy task,” comments Theo Hooning, secretary general of SYBAss. “We were looking for a professional with similar experience and qualifications in naval architecture, design, shipbuilding and the maritime political arena. Hans Huisman has all that, plus many years of navigating experience.”
