The 2015 Dubois Cup to take place in May

Organised in conjunction with the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS), the Dubois Cup returns for its fifth edition from the 28th to 30th May 2015. The inaugural event took place in 2007, and offers owners an opportunity to put their yachts through their paces, as well as to meet other Dubois owners.

The second Dubois Cup took place in 2009 at the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda in Sardinia, whilst the third and fourth Cups took place in June 2011 and June 2013, again held at and organised in conjunction with the YCCS. The last Cup in 2013 was noted as the best edition to date, with a total of 16 Dubois yachts in attendance, eight of which took part in the racing.

Yachts confirmed in the racing at this year’s event include the 29.1 metre Alcanara built by SE Ward and launched in 2009; the 35.1 metre Caroline I built by Alloy Yachts and launched in 1994; the 46 metre Ganesha built by Vitters Shipyard and launched in 2013; the 53.5 metre Nirvana also built by Vitters Shipyard and launched in 2009; the 30 metre Nostromo built by Pendennis and launched in 2009; and the 36.2 metre Ohana, built by Fitzroy Yachts and launched in 2012.

Attending the event but not racing will be the 36.2 metre Sovereign which was launched in 1995 by Alloy Yachts, as well as the 40 metre Valquest, built by Bloemsma van Breemen and launched in 2009.

The event will commence on the 28th May where participating yachts will register, followed by an evening of welcome cocktails. The first race day will begin the next morning, starting with a skipper’s briefing at the YCCS Clubhouse, and concluding with an Owner’s dinner. The last day of racing will commence on the 30th May, and will be followed by a prize giving party.
