The HISWA Amsterdam Seaport Boat Show, from September 2 to 7, 2008 in the Marina Seaport IJmuiden, will offer more to visitors than ever before. A key feature of the show is the enormous diversity of 500 exhibited boats and the comprehensive coverage of all major brands. As the first autumn boat show of the year, the exhibition will also feature dozens of (global) premiers, making the HISWA Amsterdam Seaport Boat Show the most complete in-water boat show in Europe. The events will celebrate its 25th anniversary with an exclusive, invite-only preview evening on Monday 1 September.
Cruising the canals, touring the lakes, competing in sailing races or adventurously crossing the oceans… Every type of yachting pleasure is covered at the HISWA Amsterdam Seaport Boat Show as the international industry presents its latest models. Modern and classic boats, sporty and luxury sailing yachts, steel motor cruisers and high-speed sports boats will be moored at the quays for the public to admire.
The yacht builders and importers will exhibit a total of 250 different brands, including both series and (semi)custom yachts, varying in length from 7 to 25 metres. And a major extension of the promenade will allow some 150 exhibitors to present their nautical and lifestyle products.
The maximum length of the boats is higher this year than in previous editions, with as many as twenty 60-footers or longer. The Contest 60CS, the 70’ Nordia Performance Cruiser by Van Dam Nordia, the Swan 66 and the Northern Classic 65 are just a few of the top yachts that will be making their public debut in the sailing yachts category.
The Princess 67, the ‘Bonker’, a 19.60 m wheelchair-accessible motoryacht by Flevo Jachtbouw to the design of Pieter Beeldsnijder, the Bendie Impressive 1800, the Elegance 60, the Bandido 75, the Holterman 60 France, the Apreamare 65, the Sunseeker Manhattan 70, the Continental 20.00 and the Sturier 600 are some of the largest motoryachts at the boat show.
The luxury catamarans of importer Jan de Boer will also attract a great deal of attention. The range of over 100 sloops is characterised by a tremendous diversity: From the most luxurious to sober and cool with a focus on design.
The series built and semi-custom sailing yacht category will include premiers from the brands Arcona, Salona, Hunter, Dufour, Elan, Faurby, Wauquiez, Hanse, Moody, Hutting, Jeanneau, Grand Soleil, Najad, Hallberg Rassy, Oyster, Etap, Sunbeam, Swan and Victoire.
A new feature this year is exclusive preview on the evening before the Boat Show begins, organised especially for exhibitors, relations, the media and guests from politics and industry. This will give invitees a comfortable networking environment and the chance to view the boats on the quays in peace. There will also be lots of fine food, drinks and entertainment on the promenade as the 25th anniversary of the boat show is opened and celebrated in style.
More that just looking…
Colourful flags waving on the quays, the atmospheric stands on the promenade and the healthy sea air provide the HISWA Amsterdam Seaport Boat Show with a genuine holiday feel. To increase this ambience, the boat show also offers numerous facilities and activities that make a visit to the exhibition even more appealing: The floating champagne bar, the restaurant on the pier with its panoramic terrace, the free motor manoeuvring clinics on a sailing yacht, sailing on super speedy RIBs or fast sailing racers, and - on weekdays - free blokarting on the beach.
Free shuttle service for non-Dutch visitors
In cooperation with sponsor Volvo, the organisers are providing a free shuttle service for visitors from abroad. These international relations of exhibitors can be picked up and returned from and to Schiphol Airport or their hotels after booking with the HISWA Amsterdam Seaport Boat Show project team. Booking is possible before and during the exhibition.
