The Superyacht Cup Palma celebrating 20th anniversary this year

Taking place in June each year off the Balearic island of Mallorca, the Palma edition of the Superyacht Cup attracts many high profile sailing yachts each year to take part in three days of exhilarating racing suited to every type of sailing yacht. This year the regatta is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

The Superyacht Cup Palma will also be part of the the Clean Regattas programme for the first time this year. This initiative is the world’s only sustainably certification for water-based events and aims to unite and mobilise sailors by offering support and eco-friendly resources to help conserve and protect our ocean. Practical examples of this movement includes the reduction of plastic materials used during the event, and promoting cycling to reach the Race Village.

19 yachts have already signed up for the 2016 regatta that will take place from the 22nd to the 25th of June, including the recently delivered Unfurled by Vitters, 2013 winner Heartbeat, and the 26 metre carbon-rigged racer Tulip.
