Trade winds and trade talks at the Superyacht Cup Antigua

Several Mallorca based businesses have been invited to take part in a series of trade talks with their counterparts in Antigua at the forthcoming Superyacht Cup Antigua from 9-12th December. The initiative by The Superyacht Cup organizers, started last year, has been to improve trade links and services between Mallorcan and Antiguan companies, both thriving superyacht destinations.

The Right Honorable Harold Lovell, The Minister for Tourism for Antigua, and Juan Gual de Torrella, President of The Chamber of Commerce for Mallorca, will lead the talks in Antigua giving both parties the opportunity to explore mutual business opportunities. As Patrick Whetter, Event Director for The Superyacht Cup explains "We are delighted The Superyacht Cup regattas have acted as a catalyst to bring together these two hugely popular yachting destinations. Antigua and Palma are well known as the super yacht 'hubs' in their respective countries and we hope these talks will benefit the marine companies and export industry in both places".

This year will mark the third edition of The Superyacht Cup Antigua which follows immediately after the Antigua Charter Show, now in it's 47th year. Between 8-10 yachts will compete in the popular and informal four day regatta with the yachts all based out of Nelson's Dockyard. The fleet will compete in 'pursuit style' races over three days. Currently registered entries are Sojana, Timoneer, Kalikobass II, Paula Rosa, Wild Horses, Tenacious, Krisujen and Signe.
