In January, we already published about a large sailing yacht, being constructed by two shipyards in The Netherlands, Vitters and Oceanco. Until today, both yards remained tight lipped about this project. Today, the yards finally confirmed the joint construction of this 85 meter performance sailing yacht. Both partners contribute experience and knowledge in the, for each yard, relevant areas.
Naval Architecture of this yacht, which is under construction for an experienced owner, is by Tripp Design Naval Architecture, and the modern interior design is done by the Hamburg based studio Dölker + Voges.
The yacht will be a true sailing yacht, performing well across the entire wind range and always a true pleasure to sail and cruise on board.
The yacht will feature a powerful rig, which lead to the custom development of winches, up to 40 tons, furlers and ground-breaking masts and rigging.
There is accommodation for 12 guests plus a compliment of 18 on board, divided over three decks.
Project 85 will be ready for delivery middle of 2015.
