With an interior designed by Donald Starkey and exterior by Newcruise Design, Luna is one of the world’s largest and most magnificent explorer yachts. She provides accommodation for up to eighteen guests in the utmost luxury, with every desire being catered to by her considerable crew and staff of 49. Guests are accommodated over nine en-suite guest cabins fitted with sophisticated natural woods and stone.

Her substantial aft deck hosts an opulent leisure area, where the beach club leads down to a spacious swim platform at the water’s edge for the guests convenience - an impressive feature when considering the vast size of the vessel. This deck also includes a large swimming pool and sunbathing area. The ship’s wide range of tenders and water toys include three Jet skis, six sets of scuba diving equipment, two Seabobs and an impressive six tenders in total.

All of the equipment can be launched from the large aft door as well as two additional side doors. She has a cruising speed of 16 knots, a maximum speed of 22 knots, and a superb range of 9500 nm.

A new transparent balustrade around the staircase would allow natural light to flow between decks, while satin-finish glass panels replaced selected opaque surfaces in the corridors. Throughout the yacht, electrical systems were checked and upgraded, with new alarm, monitoring and power management systems fitted. The HVAC system was completely replaced, including new chillers, air handling units and fan coils.&nbsp;Guest and crew areas were also refreshed, including refurbished staterooms, restored marble surfaces, new blinds and updated interior finishes throughout. On deck, new teak was laid across most exterior areas. Key running gear was serviced and overhauled, including steering, shafts, bow thruster and rudders. Cold storage systems were renewed, diving equipment improved, tanks and technical rooms repainted, and her underwater hull coating fully redone after sandblasting.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/396850/image/large-75c81ae7c7f8ec276ac58002cfd81609.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/396850">The works carried out in her engine room and technical spaces were also substantial. This included water production, ventilation, tank systems, sewage treatment, heating, freshwater distribution and fuel handling. By chance I also discovered a local boat carpenter whose family had been building boats in the region for generations.
