Description
Motor vessel "Grace" is a steel 158 ft "gentleman's yacht" in the style of the successful passenger vessels of the early 1900's but completed in 2004. She has all the modern electronics, technical systems and safety equipment required for safe operation, but her lines are resolutely classic.
Outside, the teak decks, bronze deck fittings and lights recall the golden age of travel by sea. "Grace" aims for high quality without being at all ostentatious. Meanwhile, inside, the traditional panelling and period furniture recall country house luxury. There are 5 double guest cabins, (3 doubles and 2 twins) all with their own bathrooms.
The library features a well insulated fireplace for use in colder conditions. Whereas in warmer climes the aft deck, bridge deck and sun deck offer panoramic views for sunbathing and open air entertainment.
"Grace" is built as a commercial vessel under Dutch flag and classed for unlimited world wide commercial navigation by the Dutch Shipping Inspection and Bureau Veritas. Her strengthened hull, propellers and rudders allow certified operation through ice of up to 40 cm.
The ship is fitted with a system of ship's batteries and inverters that enables totally silent mooring and anchoring at idyllic locations without disturbance.
A maximum speed of 12.5knots can be reached with a range of more than 5300 nm at 10 knots.

Together with her original designer, Jaron Ginton, Balk removed the old bow and replaced it with a schooner styled bow. The rebuilding of her bow increased her overall length from 40.05m to 48.27m (46.34m excluding the bowsprit). |
