Description

Flying Eagle carries the signature of some of the leading lights of the international yachting industry. Her sleek exterior is from the drawing boards of Reymond Langton Design, with Pascal Reymond taking personal charge of the graceful interior. Struik & Hamerslag took care of all the interior woodwork, and Vripack Naval Architects was responsible for the naval architecture.

This modern displacement yacht comprises four distinct decks, each air-conditioned by Heinen & Hopman installations. On the main deck, the dining area and galley take up the aft portion together with a wide saloon, decorated in stylish art deco mahogany wood and leather detailing.

Located forward, an impressive owner’s suite begins with a foyer and a hugely impressive circular stairway leading up to the bridge deck and down to the lower. Spectacular glass art works grace this space, including a unique eagle’s wing piece. The reception area opens onto a refined, full-beam stateroom, which also includes walk-in closets and an elegant bathroom clad in Italian marble.

Aft of the wheelhouse on the bridge deck, there is an impressive sky lounge with large panoramic windows. The sundeck provides ample space for al fresco relaxation, with lots of sun pads, a barbecue and a large Jacuzzi. The lower deck contains the crew’s quarters and accommodation for eight guests, each area with its own individual entrance in art deco style.

The tender on Flying Eagle is six metres in length, making conventional storage impractical: Bloemsma & van Breemen cooperated with Vripack to devise a special slide-in launch system with a foldaway platform and a stern bay. This smart solution was made possible by connecting the rudders of the boat electronically as opposed to mechanically. It also significantly improved Flying Eagle’s steering performance.

Overall, the yacht features a great deal of state-of-the-art technology and innovations in terms of convenience and automation, which reflect Bloemsma & van Breemen’s commitment to technical quality. The ultra-modern wheelhouse contains the nerve centre of the boat, including systems operation and navigation equipment.

Other high-tech onboard systems comprise audio-video alarm systems by Intelect Integrated Electronics, stabilisers for neutralising roll and pitch at anchor, and the electric-hydraulic rudder system by Van der Velden Marine Systems. Flying Eagle has a spacious engine room and - uniquely for a yacht of her size - separate control and generator rooms. Two powerful Caterpillar 3512 engines provide a cruising speed of 14 knots (max 16 knots) and a range of 4,000 nautical miles.
