Description

Independence has proven her place in the yachting world by traveling the globe carrying guests and crew to remote and exotic locations in comfort and safety. She was designed with the comforts and amenities of a 5-star hotel and toys to enjoy any destination upon arrival.

Her best sailing conditions are reached in the trade winds, providing a stable platform to enjoy the sights beyond and service aboard.

Accommodations
An atrium with two stairways leads to the guest accommodations below. A great deal of thought went into the unique six stateroom layout which flows through to the lazarette and to access the water and tenders via a shell door dock.

All six staterooms are located on the same level, and have large portholes that bring light and views of the outside into the cabin; cherry wood panels throughout make for a light, airy interior.

The large lounging and dining area aft are all-day favorites. A formal lounge and dining room are located forward. The fly bridge has comfortable seating with spectacular views of the yacht under sail, a ten person hot tub, and a covered helm station with complete controls.

For the Family
Independence was designed as a family yacht. As such, some very unique design features were incorporated to keep young children from straying from safe areas.

Well-designed pocketed doors and gates at exterior entryways and stairwells make it very safe for children to be onboard. There is also stowage for toys and a video game station.

Entertainment
Recent upgrades to the entertainment system include: flat screen TVs, Kaleidescape™ System, iPod docking capabilities, and satellite TV accessible in all staterooms via Crestron remotes.

High speed wireless internet is available throughout the yacht, and a custom-designed Vessel Communication Management System controls the internet connections from a central console.

Features
Independence has two 18-ft. Castoldi diesel-powered tenders with jet drive, windshields, covered forward seating for dry shore transfers, and towing poles for a variety of tow toys. They are stowed below deck at the forward end of the yacht. Two Quantum hydraulic cranes deploy the tenders as well as other toys stowed in the bow lockers.

Independence is well-equipped for diving with a Bauer compressor, fill station with 14 racked dive bottles, two fill lines, wet suit locker and cupboards for all other diving equipment, all located in the lazarette adjacent to the shell door for convenient loading and unloading.

Classification
Independence is classed as a private yacht using ABS Maltese Cross A1 Yachting Service, but has the ability to be converted to MCA or other classes with grandfathering deeds, as her keel was laid prior to 1995.

An extremely high standard of maintenance has been kept over her lifetime, including servicing her equipment, replacing any questionable systems, and upgrading to newer technology as it became available. She has just completed the 10-year survey with minimal work needed, which is a testament to thoroughness of the maintenance program.
