Few superyachts can keep up when it comes to the impressive fleet of tenders that the 107-metre explorer yacht Ulysses carries. Ulysses is the mothership to no fewer than eight tenders with a custom built 21-metre multihull ‘yacht’, known as U-21, as the flagship of this fleet. SYT captured this enormous tender being lifted into place on Ulysses well deck where she is anchored off Cannes this week.
U-21 was built by Composite Projects in New Zealand to a design by Teknikraft to meet the owner’s deep-sea fishing and comfortable cruising requirements. The tender is propelled by 4 water jets driven by quad engines. Inside is accommodation for seven guests in five cabins. Two dedicated Palfinger 30-tonn cranes serve the tender and launch her into the water over the port side of the foredeck.
