Designed and built in Barcelona in 2000, Blalumar's classic style belies the modern technology which makes her such a pleasure to sail and use. From push-button sailing and pivoting hydraulic anchor to the modern amenities of a home, Blalumar offers 3 ensuite staterooms plus crew quarters and combines the contemporary with the traditional in a stylish, seafaring vessel.
Intended as a series, but in fact the only “Maxi 78” built, Y Not was designed by a French company to be the ultimate charter vessel. Built to Bureau Veritas, the design of the vessel lends itself to the lively schedule of chartering or private cruising. Reckmann hydraulic furling on the jib is paired with a fully-battened main system of lazy jacks and batt cars which yield the performance for which Bruce Farr is famous. The hydraulic fold-out transom and relatively shallow draft along with a sailing cockpit and social cockpit provide good flow and a place for everyone. The oval social cockpit is deep-set in the deck providing protection and safety as well as an ideal setting for social interaction.
Forward of the cockpit, stairs from the deck to the main companionway facilitate deck flow. The interior, known for its light and airy feel, is particularly flexible due to two guest staterooms which can be configured as double or twin-bedded. Practically all major systems on Y Not have been replaced or renewed within the last few years including, decks, rig, generator and in 2007 a new engine and sails. She is ready for her next owner at a fraction of replacement value!
