Pila Pexton joins Merle Wood & Associates

Merle Wood & Associates has announced that Pila Pexton, a highly regarded member of the international yachting industry, has joined the firm. She will be working in Yacht Chartering and Sales, and will be based out of the firm’s Newport, Rhode Island office.

Pila’s knowledge and abilities make her a sought-after charter agent, consultant, and charter yacht management expert. For the past decade, she has successfully managed a fleet of high-profile, luxury charter yachts, her experience also includes serving for eight years as the director of the Antigua Charter Specialists and working as a professional chef and later shore side manager, for a popular charter yacht on which she completed a circumnavigation of the globe.

Under the Merle Wood & Associates banner, she will be the Central Charter Agent for motor yachts Northern Lights (132’), Milk and Honey (125’), and Watershed II (87’), & working to expand the fleet with additional offerings.

Pila is personally familiar with the finest yachts available for charter and sale worldwide, and is well known for putting her exceptional energy and dedication into matching exactly the right vessel to each client’s requirements. Throughout her career, her sole focus has been on delivering service that far exceeds her clients’ expectations.

An honors graduate of the University of Massachusetts in business, Pila brings to Merle Wood & Associates a broad understanding of how to market, purchase, and sell yachts and yacht charters. As a member of the American Yacht Charter Association, Pila will be the liaison between the professional organization and the producers of the Newport Charter Show.
