Fresh from the creative mind of designer Ricardo Pilguj comes the new radical 80-metre superyacht concept named RP80. Pilguj was inspired by the automotive world and applied similar shapes and lines to the concept’s profile.
“My intention was to combine boat design with automotive surface treatment,” he says. The ‘floating’ superstructure is made from smart glass that gives the yacht a sculptural appearance that can be dimmed to blend with the hull. The superstructure lights up at night through the use of laminated transparent OLED inserts.
Pilguj also designed two custom tenders that will accompany the yacht on her travels. A 13.2-metre limousine tender and a 10.8-metre open tender powered by Volvo’s intelligent Duoprop Sterndrives are stored on each side of the RP80’s garage.
