My Petra is the sixth in Heesen's semi-displacement, all-aluminium, 4400 Class, which, alongside the 3700 Class, represents one of the most popular designs by Heesen Yachts in collaboration with Frank Laupman of Omega Architects. Laupman has been active in highly exclusive yacht design for 25 years. He founded his firm, Omega Architects- member of The Royal Institute of Dutch Architects – in 1995.
Frank Laupman has designed more than 60 megayachts. Most of his designs were developed for the celebrated Dutch shipyard Heesen Yachts.Omega architects consists of a team of 17 specialists, each of them an expert in their own field.
Frank Laupman created both the exterior styling – with its sleek and elegant lines – and the lavish interior of this fast motor yacht, which can reach a maximum speed of 25 knots thanks to its twin MTU 16BV 4000 M90 diesels, each delivering up to 2,720kW.
Distinct lines, coupled with extreme comfort and the high quality workmanship that Heesen is known for, account for the incredible success of the Heesen 4400 series.
Entering the accommodation from the aft deck, My Petra's guests are welcomed into a cosy semi-circular conversation area, which leads forward into a more formal saloon, where three settees and two leather armchairs are arranged around a rectangular coffee table.
A low cabinet divides the saloon from the dining area, further forward. The galley is located portside, and communicates with the dining area through a sliding door.
Forward, on the starboard side, the owner's office leads on into the owner's suite, which features a full-beam bedroom with an adjoining his-and-hers bathroom that offers both a shower and bath.
Eight guests can be accommodated in four cabins positioned on the lower deck, of which two are VIP cabins and two are twin cabins, all featuring an ensuite bathroom with shower.
The layout is conceived for making the most of the outdoor living, and in this respect guests can socialise in four distinct areas.
The main deck offers a spacious aft cockpit and a very intimate forward cockpit that ideal for ensuring guest privacy when the yacht is stern docked in the harbour. A cosy aft cockpit on the upper deck adjoins the sky lounge.
Aloft, there is a very spacious fly bridge with a circular spa pool and a dining table for up to ten guests.
Heesen Yachts was established in 1978. Over the last thirty years, it grew into one of the world’s leading builders of luxury super-fast yachts, sportfishing vessels, and displacement and semi-displacement ships.
Heesen yachts are greatly appreciated for their superior performance, which is underlined by the company’s own performance throughout the years. Since 1978, Heesen designed, built and delivered well over one hundred custom made yachts. Many of them award-winning, not two of them alike.
