When Razan first arrived at the Turquoise Yachts shipyard in 2014, the owner saw this semi-completed project as a canvas on which he can express his personal style with the help of and experienced yacht builder and design team. The following two years were spent refining the yacht’s lines and onboard features to create a custom project unlike anything the Turkish shipyard has delivered to date and the industry can look forward to being wowed by the Razan effect in Cannes and Monaco later this year.
Razan’s exterior design and overall layout was revisited mid-build and Turquoise managed to deliver her owner a nearly completely different project that what was originally started. “Although she was a very well designed boat to start with,” says Turquoise CEO, Mehmet Karabeyoglu, “the owner wanted something different so we didn’t use any of the existing drawings. We designed everything from scratch.”
H2 Design was the team behind the dynamic and also aggressive exterior of Razan. Features onboard are functional but also designed to streamline life onboard and increase connectivity with the sea. The tri-deck design offers multiple outdoor relaxation areas but the pièce de résistance has got to be the open sundeck area. Two separate dining areas, a bar, large Jacuzzi and a multitude of sunbathing options are all available at your fingertips.
With the Portuguese deck cleared, guests can use this raised platform from which to enjoy an outdoor experience away from the main exterior areas elsewhere on Razan.
The fresh, crisp exterior and offers guests the perfect platform from which to enjoy a simpler and elegant life on the water. Another highlight is the expansive beach area has been incorporated into the new design. Escape from the other guests early in the morning by going for a run in the workout area that puts you at eye level with the other yachts in the bay. Later in the day this deck becomes a playground and is big enough to handle the entire family.
With a name that means peace and serenity, Razan’s interior induces those exact two states of mind as you step inside. The guest areas are a display of a highly eclectic atmosphere with rich materials and fabrics that creates a grand but also comfortable experience.
The master cabin is conventionally located in the forward part of the main deck where the owner is provided with a full beam space that provides exciting views from either side. The suite’s large windows were one of the many additions of the redesign phase and adds a dramatic effect especially at night that beautifully complements the shiny surfaces and contemporary LED lighting throughout the suite.
Further down on the lower deck guests will find two VIP staterooms and three guest cabins, each as luxuriously finished as the master suite above.
On a technical level, Razan is also designed perform at sea with an impressive range of 4,200 nm. Her 2.6-metre draft and 17.5 knot top speed makes her ideal for island hopping in the Caribbean.
