Superyacht of the week: The 28.6 metre refitted Elvis

Constructed by the Italian shipyard CRN, the 28.6 metre superyacht Elvis has been used extensively as a charter yacht over the years. Built in 1976, she has recently completed a complete refit just ahead of her 30th birthday, which has dramatically transformed her into what could be one of the most popular charter yachts in the Eastern Mediterranean. After visiting her during the Mediterranean Yacht Show earlier this month, SuperYacht Times’ Maarten Janssen commented that she was one of the biggest - and most pleasant - surprises at the show.

The full list of refit works includes an impressive reconstruction of all cabins and bathrooms on board. She now accommodates up to 10 guests over four cabins, with two of the cabins with queen size beds incorporating sofas which can be converted to extra berths for one adult and one child. All cabins come with en suite facilities that are generously sized, and come with corian washbasins and new LED lighting. Each cabin is installed with their own TV.

Furthermore, new carpets were also fitted throughout Elvis, as well as new white, plush sofas in the saloon. Also new in this area are the wooden blinds, which contrast nicely with the light cream and white of the carpet and furniture. A unique, bright white art piece draws the eye in this room, inspired by the ocean and nautical world, and creating a real yachting lifestyle ambiance.

Moving on to her outside areas, the refit replaced all the cushion covers for the sofas and beds. The seating area in the fore of the bow is particularly notable, with a light caramel coloured material decorated with large cream cushions, creating the ideal space to take in the spectacular views all around, or to sit and relax in the sun. Just behind is a partially shaded cosy snug area, complete with new sun tents and an ample sofa, perfect to enjoy a romantic drink in the evening.

Another welcoming space that has been enhanced by the revamp is in the main deck stern, where a comfortable bench is flanked by two large, brown suede-type material unique inflatable loungers. The upper deck features further new sun tents, allowing guests to choose whether or not to sit in the sun or enjoy the open air when sitting down to enjoy the best of al fresco dining. This area also features brand new sun loungers.

Other works included the addition of a hydraulic bow thruster; the replacement of the shaft seals with new watertight seals; the addition of one depth sounder on the stern and renewal of the one in bow; balancing of the propeller shaft and the propeller; overhauling of the stabilisers; a repaint of the superstructure of the vessel; a clean and repaint all ship’s bilges, engine room and water tanks; repainting of the wooden rails; general overhaul of all the winches (Lofran) of the windlass (Lofran) and of the crane (Orvea); annual maintenance of the A/C units and main engine of generators; and a major steel reinforcement of the bow and partial steel renewal of hull.

Topping off her new charter yacht package, Elvis comes with a wide range of water toys and tenders to fully make the most of, including a Novurania 430 tender with Pro 50Hp Yamaha outboard, a Kawasaki jet ski wave runner model, two sets of water skis one for adults and one for children, a water tube, a 5 metre water trampoline, a 1.5 metre wide and 2.5 metre tall water slide, 2 sets of scuba diving kits and 4 sets of snorkelling equipment.
