SuperYacht of the week: The Naumachos 82

CNP Explorer Vessels is the division of the Cantiere Navale di Pesaro shipyard dedicated to luxury cruisers. The shipyard, which specialises in particular in building merchant ships such as gas tankers, passenger ferries, tugs, and deep-sea fishing vessels, can boast experience in the industry dating back to the early 1950s.

The CNP Explorer Vessels division uses all of the yard’s skills and technology, using the materials it knows best - steel and lightweight alloy, to create a different product, one that is classical and at the same time, on the cutting edge when it comes to yachts normally seen in marinas.

In this article we take a better look at the Naumachos 82. This unique 82 foot tri-deck yacht, creates a comfortable floating home that will stand up to extreme conditions at sea. The yacht's main engine, a 550 HP 6M 26 SR Baudouin, provides an economical cruising speed of 9 knots, which allows for a range of 7.000 miles.

The Naumachos 82 is described by her builders as a "cruising villa," taking it's owner anywhere in the world he or she wants to go, in total serenity, and allowing even the less expert sailor to experience the pleasure of navigation, and of savouring it to the full.

It is in strong winds and with a choppy sea that this boat is best appreciated, thanks to excellent weight distribution and a wide beam that not only mean stability, but also allow particularly accommodating interiors. Moreover, the Naumachos 82 has two anti-rolling fins along the bottom.

The 82’s main deck features an unusual, but highly practical layout. The forward part of the main deck is dedicated to the crew. Here one finds a large galley and crew mess, as well as two small cabins, each with its own bathroom.

The main deck features a large open plan salon. Even in the beautifully decorated main salon, it becomes clear that this is first and foremost a seagoing vessel. Large grab rails are boulted to the ceiling, and provide a safe grip when out at sea.

The main aft deck of the 82 is the initial reception area for guests as they arrive onboard. The aft deck is styled with a comfortable sofa set against the aft bulwalk, and two fixed seats, each seating two people. Stairs lead down to the large swimming platform.

Every yacht can be customised by her builders, as far as the choices of furnishing lines and materials, equipment, motors, electronics and hull colour are concerned.
