She features a sculptural and layered profile which is displayed through the structure of her decks.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/367462/image/large-c10c407ef22d3dbe82535752cfb00060.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/367462">Moreover, sustainability was also considered for Layra’s design. She features optional innovations including a solar canopy and a hydrogen-ready hull configuration. The Finnish studio <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/8050" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Allstars Design (Company)">Allstars Design</a> has shared the details and renderings of Drop, a new 120-metre superyacht concept “inspired by the harmony and beauty of nature.” <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/358905/image/large-20cca2b970b4f55cc74ca1fae3f0e369.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/358905">“This innovative design captures the essence of a drop of water gliding gracefully over a leaf, a timeless interplay of fluidity, strength, and organic elegance,” <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/8050" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Allstars Design (Company)">Allstars Design</a> explained. “With Project Drop, we aim to redefine luxury by celebrating the connection between humans and the environment, but we also aim to redefine the connections between shared and private spaces onboard superyachts.”<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/358904/image/large-2b60edf27a7b2a7c15092d9b8a2ca008.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/358904">From the outside, Drop’s superstructure exhibits flowing lines and curves that aim to mimic a water Drop’s form. The section is also reinforced with electrochromic and photovoltaic glass, both of which imitate water while also absorbing solar energy that charges the vessel and can be electrically dimmed. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/358903/image/large-3b2d70f17dea32c89563990feae060e4.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/358903">Moreover, the system, which is often employed in transportation design to dim windows, means single glass panels that can be dimmed separately or in unison by the guests or from the bridge. Positioned as the intersection between aft and forward, this garden is the first room guests are greeted with as they board. Marine-grade blue glass panels located on either side of the main deck are designed to protect those onboard from the natural elements, while also permitting natural light to seep through.
