The construction of the yacht, which has been developed in collaboration with yacht designer <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4364" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Horacio Bozzo Design (Company)">Horacio Bozzo Design</a>, will begin this year and she is due for delivery in 2027.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/331546/image/large-df9b1d8ab13f4e8019ade2f99f404ba9.png" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/331546">Developed and funded in-house by the team at <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5463" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Barnes Yachting (Company)">Barnes Yachting</a>, Project Tide is the first hull of an ambitious project by the company to build yachts for the clients of both <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5463" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Barnes Yachting (Company)">Barnes Yachting</a> and the extensive residential portfolio of Barnes International. Plans are currently in place for a second, identical hull, to begin construction in Spring 2025. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/331550/image/large-44feb448b7c5f02e9452eb1ac7509a1a.png" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/331550">Inigo Nicholson, CEO of the firm commented, "What we have seen is that while there are continuously more yachts in the global fleet, the selection of interesting yachts for sale, at an attractive price and in good condition, is getting smaller. We have also realised after two years of research, that to appeal to the Barnes International clients, we need to offer them something different, something unique that specifically appeals to them. These yachts have been designed for both yachting and real estate clients and we have invested a huge amount of time into understanding what these clients demand from the yachting experience."<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/331553/image/large-55d727d30974f9c0fb473a57ed02e2db.png" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/331553">Top features of the 52-metre yacht include her six stateroom layout for the accommodations of as many as 12 guests, a 4,000 nautical mile range and her steel and aluminium construction. The yacht's main deck is open-plan with hydraulic fold-down terraces opening up the space, while her upper deck features a large semi-alfresco dining area and a lounge to the aft. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/331547/image/large-1faa486ebc92372eb5f4e6a8d634e482.png" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/331547">&nbsp;On the decision to build the yachts at the shipyard <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/7235" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Orion Yachts (Company)">Orion Yachts</a>, Inigo commented, "We have chosen the Turkish shipyard <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/7235" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Orion Yachts (Company)">Orion Yachts</a> as our construction partner, which we are also working with for the build of the 44-metre Orion One. <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/7235" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Orion Yachts (Company)">Orion Yachts</a> is an extremely accomplished commercial shipyard which is now leveraging its build expertise to move into the superyacht sector. Today most yacht builders are builders and assemblers, constructing hulls and superstructures but assembling interiors made by specialists elsewhere, and shipyard’s like <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/7235" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Orion Yachts (Company)">Orion Yachts</a> are accomplished in this type of manufacturing. We have also been able to establish a production line with the shipyard, meaning that our clients won't have to wait four-five years for their vessel, as you would at an Italian or Northern European shipyard today. Both of the yachts are 52-metres, under 500 GT, which I think is the current sweet spot for the market and we aim to begin metal cutting at the end of this year, with the first yacht exhibited at the Monaco Yacht Show 2027. The second hull we will aim to launch ahead of the 2028 summer season."Project Tide will be built to <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/554" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Lloyds Ships (Company)">Lloyd's Register</a> and LY3 compliance, with a top speed of 15 knots and half load displacement.

BARNES International had been considering the move into the yachting industry for a while, recognising the potential that it could utilise its expansive client base and to offer services that transcended the real estate market.&nbsp;BARNES reached out to me about a year ago and proposed that I come onboard to establish and run <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5463" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Barnes Yachting (Company)">BARNES Yachting</a>, it was immediately an attractive proposition, as the company only deals with truly high net worth individuals, selling €6.6 billion in properties last year alone. We also share the same values of trust and excellence. I met with the President, Thibault de Saint Vincent at 9:30am and by 18:30 we had an agreement to set up in the sector as a partnership. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/278338/image/large-ec3631d20859c2d18063edd34c7bd69b.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/278338">How does&nbsp;<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5463" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Barnes Yachting (Company)">BARNES Yachting</a>&nbsp;leverage its partnership with a world-renowned real estate company to provide a unique advantage in the yacht brokerage market?What sets us apart is the bridge that we provide between luxury real estate and yachting, with clients making the natural progression from one to the other, provided that they experience the same level of professionalism and excellence. The platform that <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5463" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Barnes Yachting (Company)">BARNES</a> offers is almost completely unique. There is a real symbiosis between these two industries and the yachting division feels like the missing link that BARNES International has been waiting for.&nbsp;The other advantage is that BARNES International is a world-renowned brand with a highly respected reputation. For our clients, despite being a new player to the sector, that reputation supports BARNES Yachting and our clients know that they can expect world-class service, fair pricing and expert advice when they come to us. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/217617/image/large-724006cad9d350624681280a7a11c6dc.png" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/217617">How are you finding your brokers and what are you looking for in your team?I am doing something different, because I feel today that there is a saturation of inexperienced brokers who don't truly understand that industry or the market. I am hiring experienced individuals, many of whom come from other sectors of the industry, such as naval architects, lawyers, owner’s representatives and engineers – experts who have a deep knowledge of yachting, the client base and the market.&nbsp;My goal is to find people who have a structural mind, who have experience speaking to clients but who are not only brokers. It has been a really interesting journey, and I am already seeing results from the team we have established. We sold two yachts in the first six weeks of the business, with another already under offer and I believe part of that success is that we are able to answer technical, legal questions in-house with our own expertise.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/220221/image/large-b790020c6591d73b8897f708ad5ef65d.png" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/220221">Can you tell us about the core values and principles that guide&nbsp;<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5463" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Barnes Yachting (Company)">BARNES Yachting</a>&nbsp;in serving its clients?I wanted to find an honest partner, which we have, and I want to serve our clients in a truly transparent way. One thing that all of the team are told immediately is “never sell a boat that you cannot resell within 6 months after purchase.” If you oversell to a client, you will lose them and you will be seen as dishonest and that is something I am very clear about to the team.&nbsp;I also value honesty when it comes to a broker's knowledge, if a broker does not know something, they must tell that to the client and then find the correct answer through our network. My goal is to create a solid relationship with our clients, so like at BARNES International they know they can trust our opinion and our words. I also want to have no more than 15 boats as a central listing at one time, and that's because I want to continue to provide a personal service to our clients.In my opinion the brokerage industry is splitting into two different forms; the marketplace and the boutique. Some of these huge brokerage firms have become a marketplace for yachts, with broker commission and sale price precedent over client satisfaction and experience. We never want to be a marketplace and we will never take on a yacht that we don't know we can sell and sell at the right price for our clients. I am also not afraid to refuse to market a yacht that I don't believe should be for sale at that price. Our business is to sell yachts and give good service to clients. &nbsp;<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/265145/image/large-2d7e5dfc570c68fa5878eb41197cc4d3.jpeg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/265145">How does&nbsp;<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5463" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Barnes Yachting (Company)">BARNES Yachting</a>&nbsp;plan to expand and grow its presence in the yacht brokerage industry in the coming years?We are currently in the process of creating our own YouTube channel because I believe video is going to continue to grow as an important format. The channel will showcase our CA’s and it will also feature charter destinations in the most exclusive format with beautiful visuals to help our clients become inspired for charters.
