Tommaso Spadolini (Company)">Tommaso Spadolini</a> is celebrating its 45th anniversary this year – and what a year the design studio has already had already, unveiling three new superyacht projects.&nbsp;The <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Article/56752" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Tommaso Spadolini unveils 90m superyacht concept with vast beach club (2023-01-16 13:15:00 +0100)">largest project presented was a 90-metre concept</a> which, if taken to build, would be the designer’s flagship superyacht. In a matter of weeks, after the 90-metre was showcased, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/118" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Studio Arch. Tommaso Spadolini (Company)">Spadolini</a> pulled the wraps off of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Article/57091" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Tommaso Spadolini unveils new 48m superyacht concept (2023-03-07 11:30:00 +0100)">a 48.5-metre, characterised by a semi-vertical bow</a> and very generous living space. The <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Article/56954" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Codecasa unveils 50m superyacht concept Codecasa Jet 50 (2023-02-16 12:00:00 +0100)">third project is the most radical</a>, designed for <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/162" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Codecasa S.p.A. (Company)">Codecasa</a> and inspired by aviation. The studio has been a hive of activities.&nbsp;SuperYacht Times caught up with the Italian designer to discover more.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/24766/image/large-df6216f2900ddcc75b7ac6ee454aac24.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/24766">Do you have any reflective thoughts after designing yachts for nearly half a century?&nbsp;Some years have been truly crucial and have seen significant changes. I have had the privilege of going through them, progressively tackling different themes, from the serial production of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/560" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Canados (Company)">Canados</a> and Aprea yachts to building <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/1514" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Foners41.5m (136'2&quot;)Izar2000">Foners</a>, the fastest yacht in the world built for the King of Spain without forgetting the world of superyachts for many affectionate clients, for whom in some cases I have also designed several boats.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/254144/image/large-f745df6f4f0984c08ef4c436e33b4736.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/254144">With the release of three superyacht concepts in as many months, can we expect any more designs this year?&nbsp;In fact, perhaps also as a reaction to the difficult Covid period we have just gone through, I am in a rich design moment and I do not rule out presenting other design solutions soon.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/24753/image/large-0fae192ab2f8d9eb43ba046a7e505dc9.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/24753">Can we expect the 90m superyacht or 48m concept to be taken to build?&nbsp;For both the 90 and the 48 I worked with the requirements of a shipowner in mind; both feasibility projects are in the evaluation phase, waiting to activate the shipyard selection.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/263102/image/large-080cd09835ad3d3ae6d7f8b33c703058.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/263102">What led you to reimagine the lines of superyachts for the&nbsp;<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/162" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Codecasa S.p.A. (Company)">Codecasa</a>&nbsp;Jet, incorporating designs from the aviation sector?&nbsp;The <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/162" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Codecasa S.p.A. (Company)">Codecasa</a> Jet 2020 is the brainchild of Fulvio Codecasa, who called me to collaborate on his futuristic project. The 27.45-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/560" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Canados (Company)">Canados</a> motor yacht <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/10544" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Hooligan27.45m (90'1&quot;)Canados2008">Hooligan</a> caught fire and sank around 18:20 on Saturday off the coast of Tallinn, Estonia. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/235865/image/large-6a6684e8f8ad49d24a7f49bc96f2904e.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/235865">According to Finnish media company Iltalehti, the border guard said that the yacht had suffered a serious technical fault before catching fire. The Estonian Police and Border Guard had trouble working at the scene as the weather was windy and the waves were high on Saturday evening. As a result of this, the yacht <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/10544" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Hooligan27.45m (90'1&quot;)Canados2008">Hooligan</a>, which was flying a Finnish flag, sank in the Baltic sea.The Police and Border Guard worked with the Estonian Rescue Service to prevent the spread of oil at the accident site but struggled to contain it. According to Tago Trei, Field Director of the Police and Border Guard Service (PPA), <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/10544" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Hooligan27.45m (90'1&quot;)Canados2008">Hooligan</a> was carrying 12 tonnes of fuel, some of which burnt, while the rest remained in the tank when she sank. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/235864/image/large-88f422ee34318a7efb867276137aeb62.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/235864">The PPA’s maritime surveillance centre was said to have received a distress call at around 15:39 on Saturday that <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/10544" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Hooligan27.45m (90'1&quot;)Canados2008">Hooligan</a> had suffered a technical fault. The ten people onboard were saved using Hooligan’s lifeboat, and no one was injured.The ten people were later picked up by a nearby yacht, before being transferred over to the Estonian Rescue Unit who took them to Tallinn's Kakumäki port. The Estonian authorities do not suspect any crime, but it is unclear who is responsible for salvaging the boat, according to Iltalehti.The yacht Hooligan was built by Italian shipyard <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/560" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Canados (Company)">Canados</a> in 2008 to a design by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/283" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Luiz de Basto Designs (Company)">Luiz de Basto</a>. She was fitted with twin <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1409" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="MTU (Company)">MTU</a> 16V 2000 M93 engines, and was able to reach a top speed of 45 knots. Inside she caters for nine guests across 4 staterooms on the lower deck.

27m Canados motor yacht Hooligan catches fire and sinks in Estonia

The 27m Canados motor yacht Hooligan caught fire and sank around 18:20 on Saturday off the coast of Tallinn, Estonia.

The 34m Canados motor yacht Y42 sold with a last known asking price of €3,280,000.

<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/560" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Canados (Company)">Canados</a> has announced the launch of its flagship 43.45-metre Oceanic 143 motor yacht in Ostia, Italy. The tri-deck yacht offers long-range capabilities as well as an impressive top speed for her size. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/233430/image/large-03eb182a52f815ee2eb09509f5a8b27f.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/233430">The Oceanic 143 yacht is the result of an in-house exterior design by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/560" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Canados (Company)">Canados</a> with luxury interiors by Rome-based designers <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/92" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Michela Reverberi (Company)">Michela Reverberi Design</a>. Her hull was developed at <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/560" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Canados (Company)">Canados</a> to provide optimum comfort at displacement speeds of 8-12 knots while reducing fuel consumption. The hull design also ensures top speeds, which are expected at around 24 knots.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/233427/image/large-b017dd21259f1ac653bdc01efd44b91b.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/233427">In order to reach this impressive feat, multiple tank testing sessions were conducted to reach the desired performance levels. The large superstructure also made these goals difficult and her planing hull had to be removed as it did not offer stability at displacement speeds. Her hull was instead built in E-Glass and Vinylester resin while her superstructure is made of Kevlar/Arama to keep her weight down.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/233426/image/large-c6c9b2a9d7c0f2c65b8ccfa90390b99f.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/233426">In order for the Oceanic 143 yacht to reach her top speed of 24 knots, triple <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1408" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Caterpillar Inc (Company)">Caterpillar</a> C32 B-series engines were installed. She is also equipped with an intercooler to allow her to run at low speeds for long crossings and burn less fuel.&nbsp;The main deck and saloon of the Oceanic 143 yacht is located above the guest staterooms with all mechanical noises contained in two bulkheads aft of the lower deck. The top deck, or owner’s deck, is entirely private and is so far from the engines that even at full speed, the sound level will be limited to the blow of the AC system and sound speakers.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/233423/image/large-2126dc506fb814b72e3123729b61e0dd.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/233423">The 365 GT motor yacht is able to sleep up to 10 guests across five staterooms with her owner’s suite located on a separate deck. Further guest accommodations are located on the lower deck with two VIP suites and two guest staterooms.The aft deck is equipped with &nbsp;an infinity tub, an oversized lounge, game and coffee table, bar with summer kitchen and dining table for 12 guests. She will be unveiled to the general public at the 2022 <a href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Cannes Yachting Festival - 2022">Cannes Yachting Festival</a> and then again at <a href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Monaco Yacht Show - 2022">Monaco Yacht Show</a> later on in September.

Canados yacht Ursus V sold

The 27m Canados yacht Ursus V sold in a deal with Yachting Partners International representing the buyer and Moana Yachting representing the seller.

Lightning fast 27m Canados yacht Ursus V sold

The first hull of the 29.22-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/560" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Canados (Company)">Canados</a> Gladiator 961 Speed series is now in-build in Italy. The yacht's hull construction is complete, with piping well underway and the bulkhead installed. She is due for delivery to her owner in April 2023, and will make her global debut at the 2023 Cannes Yachting Festival.
