The 31 metre superyacht Polar Bear caught fire at the Chula Vista Marina Thursday morning, destroying the yacht. Polar Bear was delivered in 2011, by Citadel Yachts.According to local new stations, the fire started just before 9.30 in the morning, at Marine Group Boat Works. It is reported that there was a lot of fuel on board when the fire started. The fire lasted for several hours.There a no reports about injuries.By Maarten Janssen

Citadel Yachts has announce the launch of their latest build, a 102-foot expedition yacht named Polar Bear, for an experienced U.S. yachtsman. This robustly constructed longrange vessel features an efficient, steel displacement hull with a bulbous bow, active quad-fin stabilizers, bow and stern thrusters and fully protected propellers and rudders. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/135558/image/large-0db3f353426b0261ea503b916f673f1a.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/135558">Powered by twin 685-hp Caterpillar C-18B diesel engines, she has a range in excess of 5,000 nautical miles. Her massive 28-foot beam offers over 3,000 square feet of interior living space, with the engine room and lazarette providing an additional 720 square feet. This gives the owner the large living spaces normally found on vessels 30 feet longer, but with the added benefit of half the crew. Lower deck accommodations provide fully self-sufficient crews quarters forward with a separate stairway leading up to the starboard companionway. Guest accommodations include two VIP staterooms with king-sized berths and two additional guest staterooms all with spacious private heads. The full-beam master suite is accessed via a private companionway located forward on the main deck, and includes a 52-inch flat screen TV with entertainment center, kingsize bed, and his and hers private baths with a large adjoining steam shower. The luxurious interior features handcrafted, satin finished, American cherry joinery throughout with a variety of exotic stone counter tops. Citadel Yachts launch 31.10 metre superyacht Polar Bear

Late 2009, Tacoma’s Citadel Yachts, Inc., formerly known as Aleutian Yachts, launched the Miss Lisa, a 92’ Joseph Artese Designed Expedition yacht. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131318/image/large-21f49996233cca45e0cc0d5560bb7f46.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131318">The long awaited launch on a rainy 4th of September was blessed by a partial clearing—with a rainbow no less—that appeared as the vessel was lifted from her cradle and continued until the craft touched the water. Miss Lisa nosed up to and docked bow to bow with the decommissioned ferry boat Point Ruston; it was from this notable platform that the owner’s wife christened Miss Lisa as an orchestral sonnet of ship’s horns sounded. Superyacht of the Week: The expedition yacht Miss Lisa

Joseph Artese Design today announces its role in the interior design and styling of Miss Lisa, a 92’ steel-hulled expedition motoryacht nearing completion at Aleutian Yachts, Inc. in Tacoma WA. She is owned by an East coast couple who will spend half their time aboard the vessel cruising from Maine to the Caribbean. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/125314/image/large-deea899af51c432d937d66293a8c0144.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/125314">“These young professionals love to cook and Aleutian Yachts ‘Grand Galley’ layout will be the prime social center of the yacht,” says Seattle designer Joe Artese who was hired to give his very custom touch to this three deck yacht. A relaxed but finely detailed traditional interior rendered in anegre with recessed panel joinery, teak and holly soles and tongue and groove overheads was the choice of the Artese team who worked closely with the owners to integrate all details including soft goods. In keeping with a simple, traditional East Coast feeling, the fabrics throughout the yacht are clean, crisp white or navy with accents in navy or French blue. Polished nickel on lighting and accessories plays off the warm anegre, rich black granite and the Carrara marble in the owner’s bath suite. The owner’s stateroom is luxuriously spacious and Miss Lisa has generous accommodations including two guest staterooms and a VIP stateroom all with en suite baths. Crew quarters are well thought out and feature two double crew cabins with en suite heads and shared shower as well as a comfortable crew lounge with galley and TV. Aft of the wrap around command consol with its state-of-the-art electronics, traditional chart table and settee, the bridge deck also has a sky lounge with L-shaped couch, full service desk with file drawers, cubbies and book shelves, a 46” TV and of course, a 360 degree view. A late summer launch is expected.
