Dutch company Van Oossanen has announced they will be expanding their activities for hydrodynamic hull and appendage optimisation into Italy. The new sales office will be located near Bologna, and will open its doors in September 2015.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/156175/image/large-18d7f96500549d3a04993483822d0d4c.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/156175">Michele Ansaloni has been announced as the new sales agent, who has plenty of experience in the yachting industry from working as a DNA engineer in Italian yacht design. He comments, “I was a member of the technical staff of some of the most renowned yachting design firms such as Victory and Nauta and I provided engineered structural parts to renowned superyacht shipyards like CNP, Benetti and ISA. I also worked as a skilled surveyor of pleasure boats for the Italian Naval Register and independently developed an innovative 45 metre ‘green’ motorsailer yacht. For Van Oossanen, my first priority will be offering the broad spectrum of hydrodynamic optimisation services to Italian yacht owner designers and builders.”Van Oossanen has commented that, starting with this new operating base, Van Oossanen Fluid Dynamics is expanding its optimisation services to be easy accessible for yacht designers, yards and owners in Italy and the Mediterranean area.By Gemma Fottles

A new model, the Naumachos ‘105, has been added to the Naumachos line. This real ocean-going yacht currently under construction and the first of its kind will be launched this year. The performance and contours are in line with the well-known qualities of the traditional Exploration Yachts, which can be summed up as large interiors (approx. 230 sq m) and exteriors, great navigational autonomy (9,000 miles at 9 knots), diesel tanks with a capacity of 70,000 litres, and low fuel consumption. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/130289/image/large-32839c7aea3bbd0dc0b917f5ca82f3be.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/130289">The design of this model has aimed to make the utmost of living space to ensure that the owner and guests can enjoy every on-board area to the fullest. This philosophy has led to the creation of a sundeck, featuring a spa tub at the bow, overlooking the sea and surrounded by roomy sofas where you can chat or soak up the sun. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/130290/image/large-b3ec1ece0ca585c1973e353ed21bf130.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/130290">The sundeck also has a bar area, protected by a hardtop and complete with barbecue, ice maker, minibar, and table with seating for ten for enjoying lunch, dinner or cocktails, as well as comfortable built-in sunbathing areas. Stairs leads down into the Bridge, with storage for davits, tender and toys, aft. There is also a relaxation area behind the wheelhouse, with armchairs, sofas and coffee tables. CNP Explorer Vessels is the division of the Cantiere Navale di Pesaro shipyard dedicated to luxury cruisers.
