<p>With over a century of experience under a previous name, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/6776" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Amsterdam Yacht Builders  (Company)">Amsterdam Yacht Builders</a> has joined the Dutch superyacht scene to shape the future of new builds, refits and maintenance work. Although the name of the company is new, their work dates back to 1921 and is based in a first-class location in Zaandam, the Netherlands. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/232815/image/large-ded8ae8fe8e1751133397e4d143b8f60.jpeg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/232815"><a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/6776" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Amsterdam Yacht Builders  (Company)">Amsterdam Yacht Builders</a> was originally established by the metal-workers association <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2572" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="De Vooruitgang (Company)">Vooruit</a>, who are best known for their reliable, no-nonsense approach and service to all kinds of vessels. Since new owners took the helm and renamed the site <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/6776" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Amsterdam Yacht Builders  (Company)">Amsterdam Yacht Builders</a>, major investments have been made in the facility to offer an extensive range of services to sailing and motor yacht owners alike.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/232817/image/large-af814d7c2398747a57e4897be51e4349.jpeg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/232817">“This yard has always focused on craftsmanship and although things have significantly changed over the past century, quality remains a key driver,” says managing director Robert Binnekade. “Our motto – ‘For sailors, by sailors’ – reflects the fact that everyone working here has boating in their blood. As yachtsmen ourselves, we know what a big decision it is to entrust your prized possession to a yard for major refit and maintenance work. It is a specialised line of work that requires a dedicated approach and the ability to return yachts to clients in the best possible condition.”<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/232816/image/large-c5ad839d6ff0eced83d52d125adbb36c.jpeg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/232816">The <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/6776" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Amsterdam Yacht Builders  (Company)">Amsterdam Yacht Builders</a> yard covers 12,000 square-metres and includes a floating dock for vessels up to 70 metres, a construction hall measuring 50 by 30 metres, a metal-working shed and several cranes. The yard has ambitious plans for the future, and currently has the largest boat lift in the Netherlands, suitable for vessels up to 480 tonnes. The yard is working on a major refit project at the moment which includes installing an all-new interior for the 35-metre sailing yacht <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/3677" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Gio35.05m (114'12&quot;)Claasen Shipyards2011"><em>Gio</em></a>. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/232819/image/large-03ef2a015ea8538ae2cbd590bce90237.jpeg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/232819">The <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/6776" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Amsterdam Yacht Builders  (Company)">Amsterdam Yacht Builders</a> also have a long-standing relationship with leading Dutch sub-contractors and equipment suppliers as well as a global network of partners that provide comprehensive after-sales support. They are also located close to the open sea which means there are no depth or height restrictions at the shipyard.
