According to <a href="https://sytiq.superyachttimes.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="">SYT iQ</a>, in 2023, the used superyacht market experienced a notable decline of -33% in the sale of yachts measuring 24-metres or more, with only 487 yachts sold, compared to the 725 sold in the previous year. This is also a further decrease compared to the number of yachts sold in 2021 which was 944 and 600 in 2020.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/296316/image/large-736bb7e797b1bf4185406a3fe8999f84.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/296316">Jan Jaap Minnema of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/158" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Fraser (Company)">Fraser</a> commented: “although it seems dramatic, we all know that in this business, we have to have a broader perspective, and look at periods over five years or more to put it all in perspective. I am not very worried and have seen markets up and down the last 20 years many times. This intriguing shift can be attributed to the sale of very large used yachts in 2023.
