Last week we predicted that more than <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Article/54251" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Yacht sales booming and expected to pass the 1,100 mark before the New Year (2021-12-10 16:00:00 +0100)">1,100 yachts will be sold by the end of the year</a>. Lead times are at an all-time high and shipyards are booked for years to come, so we’ve made a round-up of the current spec built yachts for sale to help you get your yacht as soon as possible:<a href="https://superyachttimes.ac-page.com/homepage" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="">SYT iQ</a> tells us that there are currently 99 new-build yachts in the above 30 metre category available. These yachts belong to 52 different builders and are being constructed across 11 countries and most of these new-build yachts will be delivered in 2022.&nbsp;Thumbing through previous editions of the <a href="https://www.superyachttimes.com/market-reports/syt-market-report-2021" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="">State of Yachting</a> we can see that last year there were 175 new-build yachts in the same size category on the market. The year before that, there were 163 new-build yachts for sale, and in 2019 there were 143 available for purchase.&nbsp;Despite the fact that the number of yachts currently in-build and available for purchase is at a low, there is still a collection of interesting options for someone looking to buy. Here we’ve taken a look at some of the standout new-build yachts currently on the market.&nbsp;Five largest new builds on the market<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/213897/image/large-d4c5d012fbecca360364a4567b27b19c.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/213897"><a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/899" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Silver Yachts (Company)">Silver Yachts</a>’ 85-metre&nbsp;Silver World Explorer&nbsp;Silver World Explorer is the longest new-build yacht on the market. She has been styled by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/82" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Espen Øino International (Company)">Espen Øino International</a> who took charge of her exterior design and naval architecture, while <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2773" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Vain Interiors (Company)">Vain Interiors</a> headed her styling inside. With an interior volume of 1,504 GT, Silver World Explorer can accommodate up to 14 guests, across 7 cabins and will be manned by 21 crew. Like the Silver World Explorer, Silver Edge features an exterior design by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/82" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Espen Øino International (Company)">Espen Øino International</a>. Up to 18 guests can be accommodated onboard, across her eight well-appointed staterooms. She was designed in-full by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4305" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Unique Yacht Design (Company)">Unique Yacht Design</a> to accommodate up to 16 guests. She has a three-deck configuration, which provides her with heaps of deck space and an impressive 1,400 GT interior volume. Some of her standout features include a helipad forward, a large infinity pool to aft, wrapped by cascading stairs to a swim platform for seamless water access. She'll feature an interior and exterior design drawn up by the esteemed <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/908" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Hot Lab (Company)">Hot Lab</a> design studio and a naval architecture penned by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2098" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Endaze Marine Engineering (Company)">Endaze Marine Engineering</a>. Whoever picks up this 68-metre motor will be able to travel with 11 guests on their excursions.Sailing yacht spotlightOut of the 101 yachts being built, only four are sailing yachts. There is the 50.05-metre MiTi K by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4456" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Bodrum Oguz Marin (Company)">Bodrum Oguz Marin</a>, scheduled for delivery next year; the 43.03-metre Columbia II by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4348" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Eastern Shipbuilding Group (Company)">Eastern Shipbuilding Group</a>, scheduled for completion this year; a custom 41-metre motor sailer being built in Turkey; and the gorgeous Rainbow II&nbsp;by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/224" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Turquoise Yachts (Company)">Turquoise Yachts</a>. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/181703/image/large-806fd89de4f19e3f9e11c8e7eb8a8ba0.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/181703"><a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/224" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Turquoise Yachts (Company)">Turquoise Yachts</a>’ 51m&nbsp;Rainbow IIRainbow II is the largest new-build sailing yacht on offer, weighing in at 51.32-metres in length with an interior volume of 230 GT. She features an exterior and interior styled by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/230" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Dykstra Naval Architects (Company)">Dykstra Naval Architects</a> and a naval architecture penned by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2452" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="deVosdeVries design (Company)">deVosdeVries design</a>. She’s been configured with five staterooms and will be able to accommodate up to 10 guests onboard. Rainbow II features an impressive, covered alfresco dining area on deck allowing guests to enjoy the outdoor life wherever they’re cruising. Rainbow II will be delivered in 2022.&nbsp;

We’ve taken a look at some of the standout new-build yachts currently on the market. 

Speculation fleet down by 60% as in-build sales rise

Eastern Shipbuilding Group launched the historic Gloucester Fishing Schooner, Columbia, in Panama City, Florida on 23 August 2014. The sailing yacht has been a product of passion from the shipyard’s owner, Brian D’Isernia, who was reportedly fascinated with the rich history of the original. Although the 2014 version of the boat has been constructed with a steel hull as opposed to the traditional wooden hull, the shipyard has painstakingly and successfully replicated the once proud and infamous Columbia.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/150294/image/large-685a1d0c73a91bc763b9d9271d5f1b09.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/150294">She was originally built in 1923 by A.D. Story shipyard of Essex, Massachusetts, to a design by Burgess. Columbia is famous for her near win against Bluenose, one of Canada’s most legendary sailing yachts, which even after her sinking in 1946, remains an icon of Nova Scotia. The International Fisherman’s Cup Races in the year of her launch saw Columbia race nose to nose with Bluenose, and was only narrowly defeated. Her career tragically came to end in 1927. Whilst sailing in the notorious ‘Graveyard of the Atlantic’, she was hit by two gales and was lost with all hands off Sable Island.After discovering the original lines plan of Columbia in the Essex Shipbuilding Museum in Massachusetts, D’Isernia took the opportunity to restore a celebrated piece of maritime history. Columbia is built to the exact offsets of the original besides the addition of an engine room and staterooms.The company’s involved in the reconstruction of the iconic boat were chosen carefully, and primarily hailed from Nova Scotia. Covey Island Boatworks of Lunenburg Nova Scotia built the rigging and spars, blocks were fabricated by A. Dauphinee &amp; Sons, and the sails were constructed by Michelle Stevens Sailloft, Ltd.Work on the first Columbia replica went so well, that the shipyard quickly begun to build an additional second replica, which is yet to be completed.
