Italy-based shipyard <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1040" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Esaom Cesa Spa (Company)">Esaom Cesa</a> has announced the arrival of a new 240-ton travel lift for hauling yachts up to 35-metres.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/299934/image/large-6aea4e5b815f890b4ba534d5cbc45c55.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/299934">The new travel lift is the second to join the shipyard, following the purchase and testing in 2022 of a 880-ton travel lift, capable of lifting yachts up to 65-metres. The purchase signifies a substantial development in the growth of the shipyard based in Portoferraio, Elba Island.This announcement is part of a broader plan aimed at generating new and significant opportunities for Elba Island and Portoferraio. Esaom Cesa plans to expand the shipyard, with the renewal of its lifting equipment being carried out in collaboration with Italy-based Cimolai Technology.&nbsp;The yard's structural renovation project includes enhancements to infrastructure, a reduction in environmental impact, and a strong focus on ensuring the safety of workers at the site. “The development of the industrial structure of Esaom Cesa represents an excellent prospect of work and brings a positive and lasting impact on the territory,” concluded <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1040" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Esaom Cesa Spa (Company)">Esaom Shipyard</a>.&nbsp;

Located in <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1040" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Esaom Cesa Spa (Company)">Esaom’s</a> shipyard in Portoferraio, the new Cimolai Technology lift is one of the largest machines for hauling and launching in the Mediterranean Sea. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/254542/image/large-5e60b155973bea286eab8c478c96e893.jpeg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/254542">It can move superyachts of up to 65 metres in length, and the yard is able to fit up to seven yachts of this size due to its abundant groudspace. Edmiston’s Cornelius Gerling reports the sale of his central agency for sale, the 31.50 metre Happy Day, with Kevin Bonnie of International Yacht Collection’s Monaco office introducing the buyer. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/130870/image/large-c08a660e4ffe92258b565790cfb00ab4.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/130870"><a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/1281">Happy Day</a> was built by the well known Italian shipyard Benetti and launched in 1969. In 2005 she underwent a major refit at the Esaom Cesa shipyard on the Island of Elba, where a new interior was built to a design of Fréderic Méchiche.
