US-based design house <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/993" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Gary Grant Design (Company)">Gary Grant Design</a> has unveiled a new 153-metre hybrid yacht concept. With her radical exterior styling by Gary Grant Design, Crazy Me is certainly a head-turner in every port she visits. A unique feature is the extensive use of glass on the lower deck accommodation level that runs nearly the entire length of the hull. Her interior is the work of Italian designer Cristiano Gatto. Delivered in 2013 at Heesen’s facility in Oss, in the Netherlands, Crazy Me can achieve a top speed of 21 knots.By Charl van Rooy

Her designed, Gary Grant, also designed a recent yacht built by Heesen, named Crazy Me, which has similar lines to Adler. The yacht, named after the German word for eagle, reaches a top speed of 50 knots. YN 16250, a 50m all-aluminium, semi-displacement motor yacht was recently launched at the Heesen facility in Oss. She was christened Crazy Me during a private ceremony followed by a party thrown by the owners to celebrate the fine craftsmanship and hard work of the team of Heesen staff and subcontractors who created this unique vessel.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/144210/image/large-939ecc6e6faf2cfb93d7531846ddb659.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/144210">Crazy Me is a very special yacht; the credit for her conception must first go to her visionary owner, who pushed the boundaries of creativity and design. The owner appointed Gary Grant to design the radical exterior lines of his new superyacht: His eye for detail when collaborating with the exterior designer has been instrumental in achieving the clean, pure lines that form the unique profile with its distinctive “swoosh” line from bow to stern that will make this vessel highly recognizable at sea.One of the most striking elements of this design is the use of formed glass, another Gary Grant Design signature. As well as looking great, it is very strong, effective at sound insulation and the low-reflective surface provides excellent visibility.For the interior the owner chose the renowned Italian designer Cristiano Gatto, who assisted him in creating a stunning interior where the clean, linear and contemporary design emphasizes the incredible internal volume.Perhaps the craziest area of Crazy Me is located on the sundeck that houses a huge custom glass-bottomed pool which allows light to dapple the main deck aft seating area below.
