The US-based shipbuilder has already sold the first unit – the 33-metre StellarONE 108 Steel – to a North American client. To smooth the transition from show to show, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4936" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="TYBA Yacht Charter Show (Company)">TYBA</a> organised a transfer from Athens to Dalaman. The charter plane cut out all nonsense, as it saved the hassle of transferring in Istanbul and getting multiple flights. It was also offered at a reduced cost – €150 per person. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/226276/image/large-1166ad9078ad52884cb81832ab156523.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/226276">The event itself was a roaring success and the newly located site in Göcek played a key role in this. As a destination, it’s gorgeous. It also benefits from having a town a walking distance from the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4263" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="D-Marin Göcek (Company)">D-Marin</a>, the marina that hosted the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4936" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="TYBA Yacht Charter Show (Company)">TYBA Yacht Charter Show</a>, meaning that participants and guests could easily get to and from the show. Each morning seminars were held at the D-Resort Conference Hall in the town centre. The talks covered a range of themes; but a unifying theme was Turkey as destination. Dr. Nesimi Ozan Veryeri from the WWF was invited to discuss the importance of responsible anchorage, highlighting the environmental, social and economic impact that is inevitable if we don’t protect Persedonia; seagrass native in the Mediterranean. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/226280/image/large-cfa34247c8fc1c9fa9f7189c59de4851.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/226280">Serhan Cengiz, Managing Director of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/6712" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Vela Dare Yachts (Company)">Vela Dare Yachting</a> and Committee President of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4936" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="TYBA Yacht Charter Show (Company)">TYBA</a>, took the stand the following day, and shared his knowledge of the culturally rich coastline of Turkey. The challenge was to create a four course meal for a jury of three judges from a “mystery box” of ingredients, supplied by Carrefour. Each kitchen had two hours to prepare the meal. Whisky tasting on DragonFly, hosted by Goolets, through to late night dancing on <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/12130" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Simay M 26.0m (85'4&quot;)S Yachting 2015">Simay M</a>. The crowning event though was the Gala Dinner, held across the bay. <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4936" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="TYBA Yacht Charter Show (Company)">TYBA</a> organised boats to transport the guests to the soiree. Mengi Yay launches 47m motor yacht La Vie

La Vie by Mengi Yay Yachts entered the water on Sunday the 10th April from the yacht builder’s facility.

The Dutch shipyard <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2948" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Van der Valk Shipyard (Company)">Van der Valk</a> has shared an update on the 23.56-metre yacht Capella, currently in-build and due for a 2023 delivery. The construction of the yacht is slightly ahead of schedule, and the yard have suggested it could even foresee an earlier launch than the expected Spring 2023 date. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/215067/image/large-939af7953aa2a746be123ffb0c8642bf.png" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/215067"><img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/199291/image/large-dc6323b33bb9d389e3c5579cd3c5bae8.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/199291"><a data-gid="gid://syiq/Article/53246" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="24m explorer Project Capella sold by Van der Valk Shipyard (2021-06-25 09:15:00 +0200)">The pocket explorer yacht was sold this past June</a> and work began quickly on the vessel whose naval architecture has been collaboratively designed by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/285" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Ginton Naval Architects (Company)">Ginton Naval Architects</a> and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/7" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Diana Yacht Design B.V. (Company)">Diana Yacht Design B.V.</a>. Her round bilge design has been specifically pioneered to create a sturdy and comfortable vessel for long distance cruising, and her owner's, who are experienced yachtsmen, intend to extensively travel aboard their yacht. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/215071/image/large-0d98ffe1b565e6d262f7f440f90fd002.jpeg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/215071">In addition to the in-build update, the shipyard has shared interior renders of the yacht for the first time, which have been penned by Dutch designer, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/234" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Guido de Groot Design (Company)">Guido de Groot Design</a> who also pioneered her exterior lines. He commented, "We used a lot of light materials on board, so that it felt airy and fresh. But we also included some darker accents, including walnut, integrating some wooden strips into the flat panels of the walls. The bookshelves and niches are designed to make the boat feel more ‘home like’, and these can be used to store works of art. All in all, we were looking to create a rustic, homely atmosphere that isn’t too busy or overwhelming."<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/215069/image/large-d52d7121f9e82004e056dd478e4f8f25.jpeg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/215069">Noting that the owner's have been heavily involved in the design and layout of the vessel, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/234" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Guido de Groot Design (Company)">de Groot</a> commented that it is there intention to sail the vessel themselves for long periods and so the central hub of the interior has been focused around the galley. There is nothing you miss on board, which is impressive for a boat of this size. Everything fits really well together, and there were no unpleasant surprises during construction that any element of didn’t fit with everything else.
