Grandweld Shipyards

<p><a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/6358" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Grandweld Shipyards (Company)">Grandweld Shipyards</a> have announced that they have been contracted to build the 54-metre <em>Shadow Yacht</em> of which the keel laying ceremony took place last week to mark the beginning of the construction process.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/197194/image/large-5b047ae6faec6238ad19f05301ad42b8.jpeg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/197194">The shadow vessel is the first superyacht as part of the shipbuilder’s Freeway Shadow Yacht Series and will be designed in full by the in-house team at <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/6358" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Grandweld Shipyards (Company)">Grandweld</a>. The superyacht will feature a steel, hydrodynamic hull and aluminium superstructure and will be outfitted with four engines, which will allow her to reach a top speed of 22 knots. Additionally, she will be complete with state-of-the-art navigation equipment, a helipad, a swim platform and tenders and toys storage.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/197195/image/large-56145b740255e7a105dbd781f29031e1.jpeg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/197195">The construction of the shadow vessel marks an expansion of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/6358" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Grandweld Shipyards (Company)">Grandweld</a>’s endeavour into larger new builds.
