Delivered in 1998 by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/40" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Royal Hakvoort Shipyard (Company)">Royal Hakvoort Shipyard</a>, the yacht's exterior was designed by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/11" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="De Vries Lentsch (Company)">De Vries Lentsch</a> and her interior penned by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/148" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Ken Freivokh Design (Company)">Ken Freivokh Design</a>, combining a steel hull with an aluminium superstructure for durability. With a volume of 271 GT, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/1678" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Dona Amelia II33.7m (110'7&quot;)Royal Hakvoort Shipyard1998">Dona Amélia II</a> offers accommodations for up to 10 guests across four well-appointed staterooms. Performance-wise, the motor yacht is equipped with two <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1408" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Caterpillar Inc (Company)">Caterpillar</a> diesel engines, each producing 481 horsepower, allowing her to reach a top speed of 11.5 knots.

Her distinct exterior styling includes a slightly flared bow and metallic bronze-painted features, as well as a cleverly designed funnel that acts as additional storage, and minimises the size of her radio masts.“It’s been a real pleasure working with such a prolific sailing yacht designer,” commented Klaas Hakvoort, owner and managing director at <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/40" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Royal Hakvoort Shipyard (Company)">Royal Hakvoort Shipyard</a>. “We pride ourselves on the diversity of our fleet and how when we say full-custom, we mean full-custom – and Project YN256 is unlike anything we’ve built before.”Project YN256 has a contemporary, modern and minimalist interior design. Her open-plan main saloon flows seamlessly into her dining area, with seating for up to eight guests. Glass sliding doors connect the saloon directly to the large and transformable aft deck.&nbsp;Accessibility is at the forefront of Project YN256’s design, with an elevator servicing all three decks and wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair. A hydraulic transformer will also be added to her swim platform, allowing for a wheelchair to be transported from the dock to the main deck.With 380 GT of interior volume, Project YN256 will feature an unconventional three stateroom configuration with a spacious owner’s suite, complete with lounge area, flexible seating arrangements, and a large ensuite with a bathtub.&nbsp;Located forward on the main deck, her owner’s suite benefits greatly from her glass superstructure, with natural light illuminating the room and providing unobstructed views. Glass sliding doors connect the suite seamlessly to an intimate foredeck, with loose seating and a private conversation area.Her remaining staterooms consist of two large full-beam VIP suites and Project YN256 is also able to accommodate a crew of seven on the lower deck.Project YN256 features a fresh saltwater pool that doubles as a garage for a five- metre tender. As well as this, when the pool is covered, this space can easily host large parties on the aft deck, with her bridge deck providing alfresco dining and seating.Sustainability was an important factor for the client, who requested a hybrid propulsion system and CFD-optimised hull. Project YN256 will also be outfitted with natural, ethically sourced materials, including her teak decking.In terms of performance, Project YN256 will be equipped with a <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1441" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="MAN (Company)">MAN</a> hybrid propulsion system consisting of two 200kW shaft generators/drives and a 500kW battery bank connected to a 750VDC bus. She will be able to stay at anchor in silent mode for up to eight hours, and will have a range of 3,500 nautical miles at 11 knots and a top speed of 14 knots.

Buijs Scheepsbouw BV (Company)">Gebroeders Buijs</a> shipyard, where her hull was constructed, in Stormpolder, the Netherlands.
